Dome of Light

The dome of light is the world's largest one-piece stained glass artwork, 30 meters in diameter with a coverage about 2180 meters square, that is located in the underground station--Formosa Boulevard Station of Kaohsiung Mass Rapid Transit system. The masterpiece was a creation of the Italian Narcissus Quagliata in cooperation with Derix Glass Studios in Germany. Its 4,500 glass panels present 4 themes: water, earth, light and fire each of these represent birth, growth, glory, destruction and rebirth respectively.
