Waipio Valley - Kite Aerial (KAP)

Another great aerial - keep them coming. And add the geotag!

Awesome. I wonder if you could get some more shots from the lookout and maybe up the razorback on the other side... you could get a pretty solid coverage of the whole mouth of the valley.

I really didn't do this shoot with the intention of putting the shots into Photosynth. (Heck, when I did this flight I hadn't even created an account here!) If I were to go back and do it again, I'd probably launch at the river, move to one end of the beach, and take full 360 hemispherical panoramas, moving a few hundred feet between each set. That would give a couple of nice vantage points to pan around in.

There are some good vantage points to stop and take big sets of pictures on the trail at the north end of the valley. Taking pictures there and at the overlook would kind of round the whole thing out. I'll have to give that a try next time I'm down there. Thanks for the idea!

Don't you hate it when you do something amazing, and everyone on photosynth responds with their own brand of advice? AS IF! This rocks. You're my idol.

Naaah, it's all good. I'm new to Photosynth, so the more advice the merrier.

I do plan to go back, and include a full session from the overlook. Ideally I'd walk in and make stops along the way to get as many angles as possible. But it's gonna make for a long day!

With this economy, I may never get to visit Hawaii. It is such a beautiful state. Thanks for sharing. The idea of using a kite is brilliant.
