I’ve been involved in recording UK rock art for about 6yrs, the last 3or4 helping to develop close range photogrammetric methodologies. I’m just absolutely blown away by your work here – I thought extraneous points within the cloud would prevent an accurate surface being produced. Many, many thanks for this.

PGRic, I've been pretty happy with how it has turned out so far. I'd like to compare the synth point cloud to a laser scan to compare accuracy.

I'd love to see your work. Maybe we can compare notes. Are you working with Dr. Chandler by any chance?

sir ivar, do you have any laser scan data to compare? I was involved in a rock art project for 3-4years and this involved scanning several carved stones. I might be able to get hold of the data. I’d need to capture additional imagery for a comparator synth though, we just have photogrammetric stereo pairs and the resultant point cloud wouldn’t be dense enough.

I’ve not worked directly with Jim Chandler, but he did advise the above project and calibrate the cameras. Some of the projects work fed into his research on low cost photogrammetric approach and camera calibration.
