Description
Abercastle is a safe haven for fishermen and leisure sailors, close to the hilltop village of Mathry. The small harbour with its reef and the prominent tidal headland of Ynys y Castell was the landfall for the first solo rowed crossing of the Atlantic, by Alfred Johnson, in August 1876.
