Description

There are views from the MARDI camera on the Mars Science Laboratory (a.k.a. Curiosity rover) as it descends through the atmosphere over Mars.

The circular object in the first two photos is the heat shield that was jettisoned and allowed to fall away.

This selection of images are among the first that have been downloaded. These are NASA images, so they are not subject to copyright.

The Bing Maps location feature seems to only allow geotagging places on Earth, so I haven't marked the location.
