Description

Arlene McPadden arlenemcpadden3@gmail.com “Hybridization is the ways in which forms become separated from existing practices and recombine with new forms in new practices” (Rowe and Schelling 1991:231). My work can be seen as a metaphor for the discussion of integration and multiculturalism as a demographic model in western society. I am using classification as a form of process within the work, combining materials that highlight hybridization. Title: Ieiunium Phasianis Medium: Taxidermic animals, wood, glass, found objects Alannah Barrett alannahbarrett@live.ie My work is an emotional response in regards to one’s connections with place. The work explores themes regarding the landscape and family dynamics, and so uses these notions to create a visual dialogue. My installations have a balance and coherent rhythm between each of the conceptual components that I choose to employ. Rachael O’Dwyer roddie13@gmail.com My practice deals with the structural integrity of an object, environment, being or idea. I create semi-submersive works, in a bid to encourage an awareness of where the reality lies. We take for granted, we assume too much. Title: Untitled Medium: Plaster, Wire, Feathers Dimensions: 8x4 Feet at longest/widest
