Description
The Manor House at Ilkley is built over the remains of a Roman fort/settlement, either called Olicana or Verbeia, with the latter association now seemingly more likely. Behind the north west end of the house, a stretch of Roman walling can still be seen.
The blue plaque within the synth, to the left of the door contains further details about the buildings history.
