Description
The American Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art is under rennovation at the moment, so a small space has been created to temporarily hold the ten or so most famous American landscapes from the Civil War era. There's a stunning intensity of grand vista and small detail in all of these paintings, and Photosynth is the ideal way to explore them if you can't be in New York to see them yourself.
Paintings represented here include Albert Bierstadt, William Bradford, Jasper Cropsey, and Frederic Church.
