Absolutely spectacular. This is the synth against which all other "document in context" synths will be measured. Great work Scott and Josh!

Wow, I really like this one. There's lots of stuff to zoom in on. It's pretty cool that the quality is good enough to read some of the Constitution. Too bad it's so distorted just 'turning your head around' not zoomed in. I guess it means more straight up and down shots as you went around, or super wide angles.... But still, thanks!

Hi rwmcnab.. Super wide angles are the culprit! I guess there are advantages and disadvantages to shooting ultra-wide. I took the initial panorama at 17mm on a full-frame camera, so if you zoomed out to look at the point cloud, the scene would look really distorted. The advantage is that the scene is very immersive when you're zoomed in. It was fun to capture this synth, but very difficult due to the low ambient light. I had to use a tripod and take very long exposures for each shot.

What is the box next to the column on the left side?

CMOS, that's the Declaration of Independance.. I just didn't get enough shots to connect it with the rest of the synth, unfortunately.
