Kiholo Bay Lava Photography

Took three tries! This started off as over 1200 pictures, but Photosynth kept running out of memory. Ah well. It worked.

I went back to Kiholo Bay and did kite aerial photography nearer to the mouth of the lagoon than I've done in the past.

This is one of those serendipitous synths that came out of photography done for other reasons. With this one I was trying to cover a lot of area at oblique angles, and to try to do pairs that could be used for stereo photography. But the requirements for stereo photography and Photosynth line up perfectly! This is the result.

5-10 knots variable throughout the session; 6' rokkaku kite on #200 line; Brooxes BBKK KAP rig; GentLED-CHDK trigger; Canon A650IS running CHDK, unfiltered.
