Description

The Fourth of July Trail, which leads into the Indian Peaks Wilderness, can be reached via a long dirt road. The hike leads to Lake Dorothy, nestled at high in the mountains at the foot of Mt. Neva. The trail abounds with beautiful views of the mountains. Waterfalls from snowmelt cascade next to and even across the trail at many points. Wildflowers can also be found all along the trail. The purple Columbines are especially beautiful against a majestic mountainous backdrop.
