It's amazing how many trees are floating in the lake.

Wow those are trees off to the right. At first glance I thought that was land.

There must be many thousands of trees in the lake and weird thing is that they move with the wind so every time you see the lake it's going to be dfifferent.

Thanks so much for this brilliant set of images. I teach Geography and this will come in very handy indeed.

It's amazing that despite the fact that the eruption happened several decadses ago now, that the effects remain so visiblle.

Fuzzbubble: Glad you liked the images and I'm flattered that you can use them to teach. As for the effects being visible, this point seems to be the worst hit but a pyroclastic flow is going to do that but in other areas of the National Monument it's amazing how quickly life comes back.
