Description

The Painted Hills are a series of badlands in north central Oregon. I started taking shots in the late afternoon and finished right as the sun set. It's kind of neat how you can tell when in the afternoon I took each shot based on the quality of the light.

Taken May 24, 2008
Painted Hills Unit,
John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Oregon

That's amazing. It really does look painted.

Really great Tony. The light is fanastic. Are the long wide shots stitched panos, or just crops?

Yeah, I made the panos in Photoshop back in the spring before photosynth was around. All the images that make up the panos are in the image too I believe.

This is my first view of a photosynth. This has to be the mzing introduction to it ever created. Thank you Tony for this.

Vicarious tourism. Great. That's a lot of pics but you really can get down to the detail. Well done!

Tony, I wish you'd quit taking such great photos - you're making us all look bad. :-)
