Description
Painted Canyon is the premier example of Red Monochrome pictographs. Red Monochrome starts to show up around 1,125 years ago. This site shows a number of figures, all very large in size. Numerous animals are seen. Most of the figures are portrayed with upraised arms and are seen with bows and arrows which helps to date the style of art. This panel has been heavily damaged by flooding caused by Hurricane Alex who rained himself out over the area in early July 2010.
