Description

The Covelano quarry is the highest quarry in Europe. Located at 2,200 m above sea level, embedded in the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Central Alps, amidst the Stelvio National Park.
The quarry is located in the background of the village Covelano (South Tyrol, Italy) in the Covelano Valley, an alpine trough rising from north-east to south-west with a pasture at heights from 1,700 m to 2,000 m above sea level and a forest and barren land above.
