Description
The most famous of all carnivorous plants. It was discovered in 1763 and grows only in southeasten North Carolina. In 1992, about 35,000 plants remained in nature with about 3-6 million in cultivation. Flytraps are threatened by habitat destruction and the lack of naturally occurring brush fires.
