Description

Ana Maria Pacheco (1943) Man and his Sheep 1989 Wood, Paint, Teeth Pacheco is inpsired by her native country of Brazil where street processions celebrate death and the journey of the spirit. In 'Man and his Sheep' seven figures huddle around an almost naked man holding a sheep's head on a pole. The figures create an unnerving presence in the gallery and their sinister expressions are enhanced by Pacheco's use of human teeth.
