I like this. Most of the synth is built on the Louvre itself, not the pyramids, which as you've pointed out elsewhere are glass and symmetrical. It still gives a good feel for the open space.

This is really excellent, but I think there are a few which haven't been synthed together properly. When shifting around, where once there were pyramids, then there aren't. I can't say I blame the program though - the Louvre's symmetrical building design would make that very difficult.

Nevertheless, fantastic!

thanks for your comments ! Johnld, you are absolutly right, the shape of this design make it quite hard for photosynth to match properly all the photos. I had an another version of it with 300 photos but it's quite a mess with the glass structure. another problem is the shooting distance: on the side, the distance tightens a lot.
if you are interested in more experience, i have tried to shoot the opera garnier using the sporting mode of the camera. the resulting cloud is quite nice. it took 8 h of processing !

The Musée du Louvre — in English the Louvre Museum — is a historic monument in Paris and the national museum of France. It is a central landmark of the city, located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the 1st arrondissement (neighbourhood). It's the most visited museum in the world and arguably the most famous one. Nearly 35,000 objects from the 6th millennium BC to the 19th century AD are exhibited over an area of 60,600 square metres (652,300 square feet).
