Description
Porthgian harbour and village from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path steps leading to the quarries. The small building in the foreground of the long quay is the old Pilot's House. Porthgain is rich in industrial and maritime heritage. Material from the quarries was moved by tramways to the red brick hoppers used for grading the stone and loading coastal vessels. The village also boasted a brickworks; and the harbour is still used by local inshore fisherman and leisure craft.
