Description

My tribute to a loyal, if somewhat dull and ridiculed companion (...friend? it is "only" a car after all) for the last 4 years, that's steadfastly drunk more than twice it's own effective cost in fuel for each of them. Sadly killed off (= written off) by that otherwise minor mangling of the front wing, bumper and headlamp you can see here, after someone ran into it as I was traversing one of the Birmingham Ring Road's many poorly-appointed roundabouts (I swear they'd have a much lower accident rate if some numpty hadn't decided that was we REALLY needed for road safety was FIVE FOOT HIGH BUSHES on the approach to all our already poorly-sighted junctions. Rather than complete removal of the existing smaller plantings and maybe a bit of reconstructive surgery).

This is a second attempt at the synth, featuring only the "exterior" pictures, plus the boot & bonnet open ones. The doors-open and interior shots seemed to confuse the thing somewhat before, so I'm hoping a few of the previously abandoned tie-in and detail shots will work this time and make for an even better pointcloud and maybe a decent spin-round of the actual damage site. If not I'll try ditching the bonnet/boot ones for a third go before giving up altogether. I've also corrected the orientation of a couple shots that were coming up at right-angles to what was intended, and added in four front-right corner shots that somehow ended up at the bottom of the file list when they should have been at the top.

So, here we go *pushes button*

ahh, pants. that hasn't really worked too much better than before in terms of number of pics in the main synth (the % is just higher because all the interior views are removed). i do have a spin halo now though! :)

maybe i'll have one last go with the open bonnet/boot shots removed, and have done with it after that.

...and with the flash shots gamma'd up and the natural light ones gamma'd down so the contrast difference isn't so stark, it might be able to latch onto them a bit better that way.

not sure how to correct for the colour differences though. do similar with the saturation?
