I'm just curious as to whether Bing plans to offer a public location matching API (like you guys were building with your Read/Write World project before that disbanded and a large part of the team left Microsoft) whether that's branded as a Photosynth service or not.
It seems like services like Flickr could really benefit by having such an API to call to get GPS coordinates for un-geotagged photos or even to refine the GPS coordinates of images which have been geotagged or get camera pose information.
I believe that I've seen images on Flickr with verbage to the effect that the location had been provided by Google, so it would seem that you guys have a reason to compete on this front.
I guess I'm not just asking about only matching images.
I was excited at R/WW's vision of visually linking photos, panos, synths, videos, etc. to each other and miss that vision and ambition.
