Perhaps I am missing something obvious but I do not see any Share button or icon. I am signed in and viewing my own photosynths. There is no share function on the viewing screen, the info screen, or the edit screen. What am I missing?

Hi, Kayest, whenever you're viewing any photosynth or panorama on the Photosynth 1 or Photosynth 2 sites, you can just copy the URL in your address bar if you want a link to the default beginning of the synth or pano.

(For the record, yours are all Photosynth 2.)

You could also right click or tap and hold on the title of any of your uploads from your profile page to copy the link to them.
Photosynth 1 profile page:
Photosynth 2 profile page:

If you want a link to a specific photo in a photosynth or a specific part of a panorama, you can get a 'Share Link' which will include the image number of the photo you were navigated to, when you clicked the Share icon or menu.

In Photosynth 2, this is the second icon from the lower left corner of the screen when viewing a photosynth.
In Photosynth 1 uploads, you would see the word 'Share' below any synth or pano.

If you want to embed a synth or a pano, it is a similar story to the 'Share' functionality.

In Photosynth 2, to get the embed code you use the same second icon from the left to pull up the menu, then click or tap the word 'embed' from the top of the small menu that appears. Then highlight and copy the HTML code given.

You can customize four basic attributes of Photosynth 2 embed code, which can be accessed through the 'more options' link in Photosynth 2's Share > Embed menu.
1) Viewer size (You can customize the width and height of the synth viewer to fit your page.)
2) delay download (Do you want the synth to load its files when the rest of the page it gets embedded on loads, like other images do?)
3) automatically play (Do you want the synth to start animating without whoever loads the page even having to click the 'Play' button?)
4) show caption underneath (Do you want the title and author of the embedded synth to be displayed below the viewer?)

In Photosynth 1's website, it is much the same thing, except the actual word 'Embed' is displayed below the synth viewer.

When clicked, it also presents HTML code to highlight and copy, however there is no graphical menu to customize the width and height, the delaying of the synth files loading, or the auto playback of the synth or pano.

Instead, you would simply edit the width and height numbers and two true/false switches when you paste the HTML into the page that you wanted the synth displayed on.

Note that the embed HTML code that both Photosynth 1 and Photosynth 2 use utilizes an HTML 'iframe' element which many websites will not allow you to paste into them, although if you are running your own website, you can do whatever you want.

There are also some websites like Blogger/Blogspot or Tumblr's video posts which allow you to paste in iframes like embeds.

Thanks for all the information and the quick response but my real problem is that even though I am logged in (and my user name is showing), my second icon from the left is the comment icon. Left to right the three icons are Information, Comments, Likes. There is no Share.

I would like to get the embed code. I believe the system is acting like I am not logged in (but I am).

Hmmm... That's odd. You should get the Share icon even if you aren't logged in.
These four screenshots show what anyone viewing one of your synths should be able to see:!254

What web browser are you using (including version number) and what operating system are you using?

Windows 7. Here is a screen shot.

FYI. Found the problem. You may want to add this to your knowledgebase. It was Adblock Plus. When I turned it off, everything worked fine.

I'm just your fellow Photosynth user - not anyone from Microsoft. ツ

For debugging purposes, on Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit I have AdBlock Plus installed on:
Internet Explorer 11 || Opera 21.0 || Firefox 29.0.1 || Chrome 35.0.1916.114 m

On all of them, I have subscribed to both default lists and also specified to block all ads (even 'acceptable' ads), but I've never had any problems with the Share icon/button not displaying on Photosynth's Tech Preview site.

I also run Ghostery + it reports one blocked tracker on synths' view pages on the Tech Preview site (Omniture a.k.a. Adobe Analytics), however the entire page continues to function with this tracker blocked.

I tend to think that some other Firefox extension you had installed was conflicting in some way with AdBlock Plus.

If you/anyone wants to do any more testing, I'd be interested to know if you have the same results with AdBlock Plus installed in any other web browsers or Firefox on another machine.
