Bing's text recognition is used on OneDrive, and I would like to see it available on Photosynth 2 as well.
The author of a synth should have the ability to correct the text where necessary.
Perhaps even other users should be able to submit corrections for review by the synth author.
Also, where automatic OCR hasn't picked up that text exists, a synth author ought to be able to tag a region of an image and transcribe the text seen there, without necessarily needing to use a Highlight to do so.
This could allow exploration through a synth via text search or bring views to the synth from web search.
Another idea I had two days ago on Tuesday was to have Photosynth automatically recognize and provide a clickable link for any QR codes seen in a synth.
Here's the synth that prompted me: http://photosynth.net/preview/view/2372c1e5-b70c-43b8-a4d0-a66b3893b34a (note the information plaques at the lower edge).
