A few times now, I've begun uploading several synths at once and had one or more of them time out on uploading some of the photos and offer the option to retry finishing the upload while others completed.
I suspect that this is due to an overtaxed CPU, disk, or RAM on my end but the result seems to be (in cases where a complete re-upload is called for when retries prove futile - if not also in cases where other uploads + computation completes before the earlier begun synth completes) that when I am uploading a chronological series of synths there is no way to avoid them being out of order on my profile which is somewhat vexing (say in the case of seven synths shot over the course of a hike).
It would be helpful if, when I am still uploading, I catch some of the later synths getting closer to finishing upload than earlier synths, if I could pause them momentarily to allow earlier synths to complete first to be listed first.
I haven't really tested this yet, but I suppose that it is possible that they synth's place on my profile or in my synth feed is determined as soon as the synth type is chosen or the upload metadata is completed.
In that case, the Pause Upload request doesn't matter because the synths will be listed in the same order regardless, based only on which order they were begun in.
The case still exists where sometimes when firing up several synths (I had five beginning to upload tonight, for example) that one of them (In my case tonight, the third) failed to begin uploading and refused to retry or resume. I didn't catch this until the fourth and fifth uploads were past 20% uploaded so the only way to get the synths in order on my profile would have been to cancel all upload progress on the fourth and fifth synths and restart them completely after I got the third one successfully under way.
I suppose an alternate request would be for more stable Retry functionality.
The third solution would be to allow me to reorder the synths on my profile (say, by the Date Taken metadata in the photos or geographically or manually) which would resolve all of this.
I know that someone will suggest that for presenting synths, I should just make a web page or web log entry and embed the photosynths in the order I desire there (and I do acknowledge that as a viable option for presentation.
My request is more about having a modicum of control over the tidyness of the order of my uploads on my profile.
If you'd like to take things a bit further than what I'm asking for here, there have been several threads in the suggestions forum over the years requesting the ability to group our synths and panos in clusters which are able to be linked to (think an album or folder of synths and panos).
