Hello, Photosynth team,
When I enter global camera view in the new synths (using the [C] key for 'camera' for anyone else reading this), I see that I can zoom out and rotate the model.
What would make the navigation easier is if I could pan the model on the screen, left and right, forward and backward, and in and out of the screen.
This is pretty standard in 3D modeling programs and would make things much more usable.
My first thought is that as long as the browser supports multi-touch, you could use different numbers of fingers panning for different directions.
For mouse and keyboard, I liked Virtual Earth's old way of holding down the [Ctrl] key and using the mouse to click and drag to rotate the virtual camera around the point on the model clicked.
Another common keyboard control is to use [Ctrl], [Shift], and [Alt] as shift keys for the different modes of panning.
Regarding presentation, I hope that global camera stays as a feature but gets prettier.
