There is a bug in the viewer that occurs sometimes when you pan and zoom at the same time. I haven't found out how to reproduce it reliably, but try the following in IE11:
1. Zoom into an image.
2. Zoom out and pan (click and drag) at the same time.
Then the image is zoomed out but can still be dragged, which leads to strange effects. If you then disable Seadragon in the 42 menu it behaves normal, until you enable it again and the bug reappears.
I think you need to release the mouse button out of the viewer or browser after dragging.
I am able to reproduce this now reliably. I have tested IE11 and Chrome, and the bug only shows up in IE.
1. Open a synth where you can scroll often, e.g. http://photosynth.net/preview/view/44971668-e765-49e2-8d7f-5d1d7322933c
2. Scroll rapidly and often by clicking and dragging from the center of the viewer and releasing the mouse button outside of the page or browser.
Thanks for this bug report Christoph
