I exported a slightly cropped 5.4 gigapixel image from ICE as a Photoshop file, to make adjustments to exposure and levels. When I exported it using the Photosynth plugin to the main site it ended up as a 990 Megapixel image. The same image exported direct from ICE seems to be working OK (another 4 hours to go yet - but it says it is full size.
Can anyone help?
Is there any empty space around the edges of the pano in the file that ICE is outputting that the Photoshop plugin would be cropping out when it does its reprojection?
Thanks for the tip Nathanael - I don't think so but I'll double check that. I'm trying an uncropped version out of Photoshop ATM and also a cropped version again - trouble is it taken HOURS to get each one to the stage where I can see if it's going to shrink it!
On the other hand, I didn't pay enough attention to how big it was prior to using the Photoshop plugin.
Going from over 5 gigapixels to less than 1 certainly can't be chalked up to a little extra around the edges being cropped out, so I share your curiosity.
You may get more answers by asking the ICE team on Twitter @MicrosoftICE or their own forum: http://bit.ly/msriceforum since their team at MSR IVM is the one responsible for HDView, ICE, and the Photoshop plugin.
Eh... sorry, try this link instead for their forum: http://bit.ly/msr-iceforum
Thanks Nathaniel - I'll give that a go - have tried a few thing in the meanwhile - but none work :-(
