My Nokia N8 has a built in 12 Megapixel camera, and internet. I would love to upload pictures as I travel. Can I upload directly from my phone to my Photosynth account?

Anyone else doing this via mobile?

Hi, Vivekvp,

Currently, the only way to upload to the site is via the Photosynth app for Windows, which is available here:

I don't know anything about the Nokia N8, but there is an upcoming update for the Bing app for multiple mobile platforms which will enable you to upload panoramas (not photosynths, so far as I've seen so far) to the site. You can learn more on the blog:

would be nice for Nokia n8

It's not going to happen, amigo.

Photosynth's official mobile panorama app is available on Nokia Lumias. That's the best you're going to get, but it doesn't make or even view photosynths - only panoramas.

It might happen...
I heard that Microsoft pays Nokia for windows phone.

if there's a app for IOS, why not for Nokia?

These are the Nokia phones that run Photosynth's Windows Phone app. Pick one.

Nokia n8 isn't there
It's not fair that IOS get a app when Nokia n8 doesn't get one

I'm not anyone from Microsoft, so don't feel bad.

I can tell you from watching Android users beg for an Android version for over two years (and that hasn't happened yet - and millions more people have an Android phone than an old Nokia phone) that I wouldn't hold my breath.

Nokia has moved on from the N8. You should too.

The only ray of hope that I could offer you is that Photosynth manager, David Gedye recently gave some indication that they might offer an option to upload full resolution photos for a panorama from their mobile app to have the full resolution pano stitched online.

If they ever do that, then there's no technical reason why they couldn't allow simple photo uploads from any device.

Unless the N8 has a web browser that supports HTML5 (or if you can find a dev who can create an unofficial viewer that opens Deep Zoom Collections on an N8), though, you're going to be limited as far as viewing your panos on your phone.
