Topic: Can we remove the "Related Images" from our user page

Don't know why we need to see images of other people's images on our own home page. This confuses people I send links to. They think they are looking at my images, which of course they aren't. Any way to remove that part of the home page?

Yakman, when you say "our user page" and "our own home page", what comes into my mind is our profile pages.

In your case, this would be:
In my case, this would be:

In fact, no one's synths and panos appear on those pages, except our own.

This isn't meant to be an argument against your request, but I think that you would be more clearly understood if you asked for there to be no other 'Related Photosynths' on our photosynths' and panoramas' view pages.

In response to your suggestion, though, surely you've noticed that on YouTube the related videos on the right hand side of the video being watched are only related by subject matter and not often anything uploaded by the same person. This can also be true on Flickr, when a photo has been added to a group which holds many different people's photos on the same subject, so it's not unusual.

Can you please give a straight answer without trying to be smart and derail subject?
He was absolutely clear and I have the same questuion and if the answer is no that we'll go somwhere else. I don't need other people on my page. Nor some unprofessional attitude from stuffers.
Thank you.Mick

MikiStereobrada, I meant no offense.

Lest there be any confusion, I am not part of the Photosynth team. I am your peer. If by, "give a straight answer", you mean "tell me whether this policy will be changed or not" I cannot tell you, since it is not my decision to make.

I simply tried to explain why the 'related' links exist and point out that Photosynth's website is not the only website to do this.

I agree with both of you that the layout could be better to make it clear that the other panoramas and photosynths linked there do not belong to the same author.

Your fellow photosynther,
Nathanael isn't on our team, and isn't paid by us, but does an incredible service to this community. Please go easy on him :-)

Re Related Images (on the viewing page): We put these there to encourage exploration around the site. Is the issue that you don't think that the ones our algorithm chooses are particularly useful, or that you object to having anything at all on the page that might take somebody somewhere else next?

Thanks, David Gedye and the Photosynth team.
