Do you have an idea for an awesome feature we should add… or hate the way we’re currently doing something? Share your ideas and suggestions here.
is it possible to add to an existing synth and if so how?
also is there a way to edit individual photos for smoother running of show?
Or could we have functionality to resynth a Synth without loosing the registration on Bing Maps, viewing statistics and so on.
While I 100% agree with terrysphotoes's suggestion, resynthing of an existing synth is also a good compromise for me as well
I assume that your question is actually about synths and not panoramas. (The answer is the same in both cases - no, you can't add a photo to a synth or a panorama that is already online - but I'd just like to be sure I'm understanding what you're asking.)
The reason that this is, is that both synths and panoramas are actually calculated on your own computer before they are uploaded. Adding photos to synths that are already online would either mean the synther (the Photosynth app that uploads your photos) downloading the data for that synth to combine with your photos to then upload back up to the website or, on the other hand, the Photosynth web site doing all the calculations itself (but that would be incredibly expensive for a small team that doesn't really make Microsoft any money). While neither of those things is technically impossible, they haven't been announced as planned, either.
It is possible to make a new synth with the photos used in the first version of the synth, plus new photos taken in between the positions of the photos from the first version of the synth, as long as you have them all on your hard drive. If you do this, the
entire calculation has to be performed over again, but only the new photos will need to upload, unless you've edited the photos from the first version of the synth since you first uploaded them, because Photosynth never uploads the same exact photo
You might have been disappointed to hear that there's no way to add photos to existing online synths. So am I, but there has been a lot of talk from the Photosynth team about their plans to combine synths that overlap each other on the map, so keep
your eyes and ears open for that feature to be announced. Here are some quotes about synth linking: http://getsatisfaction.com/livelabs/topics/linking_synths
I'm not sure what you mean in your second question. Do you mean, is it possible to manually edit the positioning of individual photos? If that is your question, then the answer is, "...not with a program, as I understand you to mean".
Instead, the key is really going to be learning what Photosynth is able to put together well and changing your shooting habits to give it what it wants so that it gives you what you want - if you're interested in the best results. For some shooting tips, be
sure to download the Photosynth Photography Guide (available here: http://photosynth.net/help.aspx#photosynthhelp ) and watch the short video tutorial ( http://photosynth.net/create.aspx ), if you haven't already.
If you feel like going more in depth on learning how it all works, be sure to watch the videos that I list in the Linking Synths topic.

@OmniSynThesis and Niaws, I'm with you. Here are some discussions along the lines of what you're proposing from your fellow Photosynthers.
