Hi guys,
are there any plans or possibly known tricks to get Photosynths out of either my ipad or the website ?
I create quite a few Panos with Photosynth on my iphone (and ipad) but not being able to pass them on without the online business is a bit sad...

Hi, vfxorg,

You're actually asking about panoramas, rather than photosynths, but in any case there is nothing announced for exporting your panorama cube maps from

If you simply wish to copy out the files which comprise your panoramas' cube maps, then you could use an unofficial utility such as iExplorer to browse your iPad's file directory and copy all of the Photosynth app's data. The problem then is finding a utility to open the cube maps or convert them to a format that another panorama viewer can read.

Out of curiosity, why do you consider uploading your panoramas a difficult way to share them? If you were emailing them to others or even sharing them over WiFi, wouldn't it just be simpler to send a URL to your panorama here on the site to another person and have it automatically open in their web browser?

If you have access to a Windows computer, simply use Microsoft ICE to stitch full resolution panoramas. This could be beneficial to you because 1) you are not forced to upload if you do not wish to and 2) your input photos' resolution will not be limited by needing to run 3D graphics and realtime matching algorithms during photo capture.

(This has nothing to do with exporting from Photosynth's mobile panorama apps for Windows Phone or iPhone. ICE will accept ordinary photos [taken with any camera - or in your case your iPad's default camera app] as input and can export interactive panoramas via Microsoft Research HDView [you can choose to keep the files local or to upload them to your own server] or to upload to your Photosynth account.)

If you have any programmer friends, give them the link to this related discussion:

The Photosynth team added the ability to export any of your own panoramas back in August of 2014.

You can also use Christoph Hausner's 'SynthExport 2' to export the six sides of any panorama along with an Image Composite Editor project file which will put them back together correctly.

Just be sure to set the export format to ICE Project in the lower right corner when you paste in the URL to your panorama from the website here.
