Topic: Choose the beginning view of a panorama as you can choose the first photo in a synth

Something that I and others have wished for in the past (though not, as far as I can find, as an official request) is to be able to frame the initial view of a panorama as we can select the first image of a synth.

The tool would not need to be much different than the highlight tool, save that I still wish that both had the ability to be chosen with rectangular selections of any aspect ratio, rather than only square selections. Alternately, the option to simply set one of your existing highlights as the initial view when the pano loads would be welcome.

Currently, you can force someone to load one's panorama with the desired framing by using a Share link, but this does not work if someone discovers the panorama through the site search, one's profile page, or (I anticipate) mobile viewers.

If using ICE's crosshairs in the 'Adjust the panorama's projection and orientation.' tool (the cube icon at the top of ICE) guarantees where the pano will be centred, zoom remains uncontrollable, according to my knowledge of ICE. If there is a way to guarantee what location the panorama will load on by default, please feel free to educate me.

I noticed a day or two ago that something like this now exists in the Photosynth editor, although it only allows us to choose the direction the camera is pointed in, rather than the framing/zoom level of the initial camera position as well.

In any case, thanks for working on this.

I am also looking for this feature. I want to make several panorama's in ICE from the same point, but different dates. With the same point of view one can see the differences the best.
Is this already possible and how?
