It'd be nice if I could change the Thumbnail photo, and, independently, the Starting Position photo, from the Photo Grid View, after the synth is complete and uploaded, much like the current "Rename" title, "Edit" comments, and "Tags" features. Currently Photosynth just uses the "first" photo based on the filename (under Windows anyway) as the thumbnail. My trick is to pick the thumbnail I want and rename the photo so that it's the first filename. I'd like not to have to use this trick. And currently I don't know how Photosynth decides which photo is the Starting Position in the Synth View -- sometimes its choices are not so good -- I'd like to be able to pick which photo as the Starting Position.
It's easy to change the thumbnail BEFORE synthing: you click on a picture and then on the button 'use selected photo' !
It could'nt be more simple !!!
But you can't change it later :-(
We all ask to decide which is the starting picture ... maybe, someday ...
Before synthing would allready be a nice solution.
Pierrot, thank you! Yes, I would still like to change the thumbnail AFTER synthing, and it's not so easy to pick a thumbnail from 1,400 tiny thumbnails -- so it'd be nice to be able to pick a thumbnail from a Large Size in the Photo Grid View. But, thanks!
This question was raised earlier see in this same Forum: "Some more feature suggestions". But I fully agree - it is really hard to find the thumbnail photo especially when you can no longer see the file name in the upload window...
and it's a pity they cut the top of a vertical picture (head of a statue)
U CAN start on a specific pic!:) Click the SEND envelope icon. Copy/paste link in resultin field. Synth will start on screen as configured when set.
Great! I can use that link on my website : Dijon in 3D http://buisson.p.free.fr/3D/Dijon3D.html
But it would be more simple to choose the starting pic before creating, so the synth would always start the same way.
