ok, i understand that photosynth can make a full room 360 degree view, but i have a hard time making the kind of synths where you one object from all angles. is there a special setting you havve to set to put it to this view?
timaustinh - The synther will automatically detect these types of objects - there's nothing you need to do. The issue could be with the number/angle of your photos, or the features of the object itself (for instance a shiny reflective sculpture wont synth well). What's the object you're trying to synth? How many photos of the object have you taken from how many different angles?
I am doing a synth of a TV and a painting on the wall, none of the synths got the pointer ring that says to move your mouse to flip the images. I took about 26 pictures of TV (which is not shiny at all) and 11 pictures of the painting on the wall (which is also not shiny). Could it be the distance i am taking them at?
If the TV and painting are both hanging on the wall then there probably wasnt enough difference between the plane of these items and the plane of the wall. Basically they dont stand out from the background enough for them to qualify as separate objects from the wall. Make sense?
Try synthing your coffee table or some other freestanding object and see if you have better luck.
I think you're getting closer: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=f3a82cb0-0c40-46f0-9cfa-acdb4919eef6
To make this work, you're going to need more light or a tripod. These images are blurry. Having less in the background will help too.
ok, thanks a lot you guys. and yes, it does make sense, i will try synthing something better ASAP.
YES! thanks alot you guy! it FINALLY worked! now im going to go do a synth of pretty much anything! Well, My first one is one of the best ones here :) here it is, Check it out! ------> http://photosynth.net/edit.aspx?cid=469c70f7-0639-4771-ad51-b37b1bc7ec17
yup, looks like you got it. Have fun experimenting!
