Topic: Highlight tag is way out in left field in Overhead View

What is occurring, everybody?

I was testing a photo set, seeing where I needed to fill in some gaps earlier in the week and found a strange placement for one of the highlight labels in Overhead View. At first I thought that it had simply been excluded from the synth in top view, but after zooming out further, I realised that it was simply not where I had expected it to be.

The reconstruction is certainly a little crazy in parts, but not for that particular shot. What gives?

The highlight in question is the "Segments" one (not the "Column Segments" or "More Segments").
Here's the collection:

I would send you a share link but I discovered that Share links don't work with overhead view. I don't know if you want to consider this a two-pronged bug report, but I did add a suggestion to add overhead view support to share links here:

Photosynth uses algorithms to determine where to place the highlight tags in top-down mode. We don't know what the subject is in the photograph, so we use some heuristics to determine where to place it. We get this right most of the time, but as you've observed, there are some cases where we don't get it right.

Lack of share links for top-down view is a known limitation. It's meant to be a navigation tool, not a starting place, so we didn't plumb that through.
