Did the leaves fall off? Something not working right? Let us know how we can improve the Photosynth experience.
First off, thanks again to the Photosynth Team - great stuff. I haven't synthed anything in a while, and when I tried again last night, I noticed that about 10 of my photos were "left out" of the synth. The first time this happened, it said my photos were 93% synthy. I deleted that synth, and tried again. The second time, it finished with 74% synthy - but skipped different photos. I tried it two more times, with 74% each. If you look at the un-synthed photos, it's obvious that most/all of them should have synthed... but they didn't. If nothing else, many of them should have synthed with other skipped photos. Its the first time I've seen it skip photos that were so similar.
Hi, Tan. We love your "Doug" synth. It's almost legendary here. I think it was the first object with a truely awesome point cloud.
Anyway, it seems that the synth you linked above doesn't exist any more. Do you have another example? If you don't mind, we'd love to run this example through some machines in the lab with different versions of the synther to see if the how the latest changes we've made effect the results.
Also, when you say "left out" do you mean the image isn't visible in 2D mode at all, or do you mean that it didn't connect to the other images?
I looked at this before it was taken down and it was definitely a case of the photos being included in the collection but not integrated into the scene.
I had a good synth a stationary sculpture but the synth appears to be confused by the background instead of the target.
Is your synth just unlisted or have you deleted it already? If it's just unlisted, could you please link to it here in this topic?
It would be useful to see exactly what you're dealing with.
Ideally Photosynth wouldn't be confused by either the background or the target. =)
