Discussion about the now-retired Photosynth Apps for Windows Phone and iOS.
I really like the iPhone app and use it a lot. Now one question: is there a way to edit the iPhone Photosynth and then upload the corrected photo. I tried the photosshop plugin but when uploading then it's not a fully 360 Photosynth Panorama anymore.
Thx for your help
I have a similar question on editing. I can successfully create a pano, but would like to be able to edit out the black areas before uploading to Photosynth.net or even after uploading. Is there a way to edit these?
Hiii i have same question. Thanks from Android Mobile Application Development India

I´d like to know if there is a way to take the pics with full resolution, as the result picture is not in full 5mp resolution... Cheers
@MichaelFfm, the Photoshop plugin has settings for many different types of panoramas. Be sure you choose the correct one when uploading a full 360.
@bubbalooey, there are no photo-editing tools in Photosynth: either for panoramas or photosynths, at this time.
@rsanabria80, not at this time. I suspect that this is because the app has to hold all the photos in your phone's RAM while you finish shooting the panorama and if they were all 5 megapixels, the app would become slow or crash, but this is just my guess. I also guess that in writing the app, they made if for the lowest common denominator: the iPhone 3GS and the resolution of the photos is somewhat based on what that phone can take. Maybe not, though.
@rsanabria80, regardless of whether or not the reasons above are right or not, when actually stitching the photos together, using full res shots would take much more memory and processor power (and potentially fail). The Photosynth team is interested in reprogramming their algorithm to stitch that many photos on a phone... sometime, but probably not very soon.
Here's a small discussion on Twitter to that effect:
