Can’t seem to get something to synth right? Curious about what lens is best? Ask your fellow Photosynthers here.
When it will be possible to have commercial version of photosynth, which we can use without internet?
It take much time to upload all pictures and sometimes it would be nice to keep some sinths private.
I would be interested in a more powerful commercial version as well. I hope this happens.
Same thoughts here :D
I personally would be interested in a non-commercial powerful version with such features ;-)
Hi. I'm on the Photosynth team and I can tell you a few things about this topic: No plans for an offline version at this stage, but we are about to start working on our "unlisted synths" feature. This will allow you to keep things private if you choose to. Unlisted synths will be free, unless you have LOTS of them, or get enormous amounts of traffic to them. If all goes well this feature should ship in 6-8 weeks.
That is really cool. With each of these releases, can we expect the technology to get better and more powerful?
Thank you very much.
Why not on next Monday ??? ;-)))
You mark all the synths 'private' ( or maybe only all the < 90% , so there is still something to be seen ) and the author , if still visiting Phoyosynth sometimes , has to click them back to 'public', if he wants.
I'm half joking and half serious; it's not a new realease and we wouldn't have anything to change at home.
Pierrot, I'd much prefer the individual to have the choice of private or not. We wouldn't have many to view at 90%+ ;-)
Half joking, I wrote!
But they are so many 100% which don't work well too.
I agree, we would have the choice to bring them back to 'public'
I'm more in favor of keeping synths public by default, but putting better "explore filters" in place so that people get to see only the great ones unless they are very persistent. We are talking about a "thumbs up/down" feature so that any viewer could give the system a hint about what was good or bad/boring. If more than a few people thumbs-uped a synth that would be a pretty good indication that it was worth directing people to. What do you think?
Is there anyway way we can get it to work. It keeps telling me that the system is not available. For like 3 weeks now. I'm just about ready to give up.
There is lots of potential for the architectural visualization industry. If there were synths that were less public, I'd pay for that. So would my huge firm. Lots of licensing. Most of our projects are proposals and/or shouldn't be in the public domain, especially if they haven't been approved by governing agencies.
