Can’t seem to get something to synth right? Curious about what lens is best? Ask your fellow Photosynthers here.
I would like to upload a gigabit panorama created in ICE. After I create the panorama and click the Publish button, the Photosynth tool opens and asks for a list of jpeg's. It completes crunching the numbers and uploads to PhotoSynth.net but the panorama has uploaded as a PhotoSynth (quads?) not a Panorama? I suspect that I'm missing something really simple - any ideas?
Seems that the issue is related to Windows 7 (64 bit). Works fine in VM running Windows XP.
amunday, I'm not sure what's wrong with your normal PC, but I use Windows 7 64bit with Photosynth and ICE on several different computers all the time and have never had this problem.
I'm glad you got it working as intended, though.
It's slow through the VM though. I've tried re-installing on Win7 but no luck.
I'm thinking that the issue is with the PhotoSynth app (or installation of). I've tried exporting to Photoshop and then exporting using the PhotoSynth plugin with the same result, other than the plugin returns with an error message hr=0000001.
amunday, if your Windows desktop has any accented characters in it, either ICE or Photosynth will probably not be able to read the full file path to your desktop's personal TEMP folder and this is likely what is causing the problem you are seeing.
Open your Start Menu and search for Environment Variables. Change the folder that your TEMP and TMP variables point to and be sure that none of the folders between your drive letter (C:\) and the folder you choose (Temp) contain any accented characters (e.g. C:\Temp or C:\Windows\Temp\ or C:\Program Files\Temp or C:\My scratch folder\ would all work equally well) and you should be good to go. Let me know how that works for you.
