Can’t seem to get something to synth right? Curious about what lens is best? Ask your fellow Photosynthers here.
Is there any foreign language version of this website? I want to have it in Japanese so that my parents can enjoy surfing images.
Sadly there isn't. You could try using one of the web translation services, but I'm afraid that machine translations will be inferior to human translation for quite some time.
Here are some examples:
http://bit.ly/photosynthenjpbing (Looks like the best option. Words are translated and synths still work.)
http://bit.ly/photosynthenjpbabelfish (Babelfish breaks the embedded synths)
http://bit.ly/photosynthenjpgoogle (Google breaks the embedded synths)
Yours is an excellent suggestion, though, White Rabbit. Localization needs to happen to the entire site, synther, and instructions.

Hmm. Now Bing Translate also breaks the synths for me.
Photosynth team, I don't know whether there is something that you can do on the site to keep this from happening or if it's something that needs to be changed on the translation sites' sides, but please be proactive in seeing that this is fixed.
Being that Photosynth is part of the Bing mothership, I would think that if hiring a team to localize the site and guidance materials is too costly for your budget, you could at least provide some sort of Bing translation service integrated with the site as part of its design - not necessarily with a lot of Bing branding, but as a very real and necessary service to your user base.
It is most unfortunate that those who speak other languages cannot even view synths and panoramas in a machine-translated copy of a Photosynth URL.
White Rabbit, if you use Google Chrome, does the integrated page translation break the embedded Photosynths for you? I haven't yet figured out how to tell Chrome to translate things to Japanese for me, since I'm in the U.S.
