Note that there is a difference between a normal tripod head and one designed for taking panoramas.
Normal tripod heads rotate the entire camera around the center of the camera. This means that the lens of the camera will almost certainly move several centimeters in space from one side of the tripod to the other. This is what happened in this panorama.
I need to purchase something like a Nodal Ninja panoramic tripod head which will rotate the camera around the entrance pupil of the camera's lens.
