Hi Nathanael, Thanks for your comments. The plant you are asking about is a pieris my wife tells me, she's the gardening expert and the majority of it is down to her.. It has varigated leaves and the new growths are bright red. The rose is terrific. It is needing to be dead headed to look its best, but it has over 200 flowers and buds on it at the moment and is 9-10feet high. No idea what variety it is as it was supposed to be Handel, which is pink and white, but it came out red. We've just let it grow and grow rather than cutting it back and it obviously loves that!
